Since Winning The Rochford District Business Award

Since winning the Rochford District Business Award in March I have had amazing opportunities that have come my way. Im am truly grateful for the opportunites and still cant quite believe that I won.

Firstly the award has given me lots of exposure through the Rochford District Council Emails and Website. I of course I shared all the details on social media and newsletter. What came next has been incrediable

My posts on social media got amazing engagement with messages of support and congratulations. I even received more bookings from new clients that had come across my page. I have been invited to take part in community events. I’ve have been invited to collab with with other wellbeing businesses. I’ve attended events as a stall holder or a speaker. But the most amazing opportunity came in June when I got contacted by a reported who wanted to share my story.

I’m not quite sure how the reporter found out about the award I can only imagine it was from a promotional post within a local facebook group. The reporter from the Evening Echo had contacted me via social media asking for my phone number. He explained he wanted to write an article about me winning the Rochford District Business Award which was very exciting. I had a short telephone interview with them and agreed to send some photos of my business and the next thing I knew I was in the paper. The reporter had told me the article would be in the paper that week. I wasnt actually told a day so I phoned my parents and asked them to keep their eyes open as they regular buy the paper.

So the day after the interview which was a Wednesday, I popped to the shop to buy a couple of ingrediants for dinner so I picked up a copy of the paper. To my surprise at the bottom of a page in a section called ‘Reason to buy tomorrows paper’ was my photograph with the words ‘Redundacy to award winner’. I was so surprised but knew I had to buy Thursday’s paper.

So on Thursday 14th June 2026 I went for a walk to the shop with my son. Had a quick flick through the paper to check the article was there and then purchased it. When I got home and went through the paper fully and noticed that the article was a full page. I read the article and loved the words and the choosen photographs.
